Welcome to Merriwa Kindergarten
At Merriwa Kindergarten, we begin by acknowledging the Boonwurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and learn. We are committed to respecting Country and helping children understand how to care for the natural environment through sustainable practices.
We believe strong relationships are at the heart of children’s learning and wellbeing. Our educators create a safe, inclusive environment where children feel a strong sense of belonging and build positive, respectful relationships with others. Families are welcomed as partners in their child’s learning, and we encourage ongoing connection and involvement.
Children are valued for who they are. We support children to build confidence, independence, creativity, and social and emotional skills. Children are encouraged to share their ideas, make choices, and take part in collaborative learning with others.
Our indoor and outdoor programs offer rich opportunities for play, discovery, and joy. Educators use intentional teaching to support children’s thinking and curiosity while allowing learning to grow from children’s interests.
We are committed to continuous improvement, with educators engaging in regular reflection and professional learning. At Merriwa Kindergarten, we hope every child feels happy, supported, and free to create their own meaningful learning story.
