Welcome to North Sunshine Kindergarten
North Sunshine Kindergarten is a nurturing and inclusive place where children and families are welcomed, respected, and valued from the moment they arrive. Set on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, we honour Country and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Our program is built around the whole child. Through a balance of child-initiated play and intentional teaching, children are supported to develop confidence, creativity, strong relationships, and a positive sense of self. Learning experiences are open-ended, flexible, and responsive, allowing each child to explore their interests, express their ideas, and learn at their own pace.
We place a strong focus on children’s social and emotional wellbeing, helping them learn how to share, negotiate, build friendships, and resolve conflict in respectful ways. Literacy is meaningfully woven through our program, including through our much-loved centre library, supporting children to develop a lifelong love of language and storytelling.
Families are at the heart of our community. We celebrate every child’s unique family story and actively support cultural identity, encouraging families to maintain their first language and share their traditions and experiences. Our indoor and outdoor learning environments invite curiosity, movement, creativity, and connection with the natural world.
At North Sunshine Kindergarten, children are cared for by a dedicated team of educators who value collaboration, reflective practice, and strong partnerships with families, schools, and the wider community. Above all, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels they belong and can thrive.
